Former distillery during prohibition era, now restaurant, bar and boutique hotel in Fishtown, Philadelphia? Oh, yes, bring it on – Philly is on fire!
W. Mulherins Son, Restaurant. Bar & Boutique Hotel
Celebrating my Dad’s 85th birthday in Philadelphia, I decided to find a hotel very close to his home, and never imagined it would be a former distillery – now restaurant, bar and boutique hotel in Fishtown, Philadelphia. Fishtown has been experiencing a gentrification, characterized by increased housing prices, dining establishments, boutiques and art venues in a neighborhood that has been working class for centuries.
Room was well appointed, minus a non-working coffee pot and dim lighting, overall a great place to stay for a quick trip in and out of the city. Although we didn’t dine at the restaurant, the place was packed Saturday evening, with a 30 minute wait for sitting at the bar!
