Four Seasons Hotel, Costa Rica at Papagayo Peninsula offers tours, daily activities and adventure: yoga, morning hikes, bike rides, paddle boarding, jet skis, billiard tournament, kayak tours, traditions/paint session, coffee tasting…are just a few examples of the options available to guests.
Cena Sociale, Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar on the property was our favorite restaurant on the peninsula. Food was spectacular, the staff superb, and hospitality in abundance. So much so, that we dined there three evenings. Our last night in Papagayo Peninsula, the team presented us with a beautiful thank you card signed by everyone at the restaurant. And, they always knew us by name!!!!
One evening there was a thunder, lightning and rain storm in Guanacaste, Papagayo. As we arrived in the lobby to take the shuttle for the steakhouse restaurant, Caracol Steakhouse, a guest relations team member told us our reservation was cancelled due to the storm. Since we hadn’t received a call or voice mail from the Concierge we were quite surprised and disappointed. Twenty-four hours later we found out the reservation wasn’t cancelled – there was just confusion due to the storm and outside seating availability.
Glitches happen when traveling and in my humble opinion it is not the mistake that you remember, rather, what/how did they respond to the glitch? In this case, they made a second reservation for us and treated us to champagne and dessert during our dinner at Caracol Restaurant. And, as a grand gesture of appreciation for our stay provided us with car service to the airport upon our departure. Not many words, but there actions spoke volumes.
This venue was on our back burner for approximately four years. Summer 2017, we made it a priority to take our week of rest/relaxation on a peninsula surrounded by beaches, white-faced monkeys, and pizotes (long nosed members of the raccoon family).
The Four Seasons, Costa Rica the Peninsula at Papagayo became our home away from home for seven days. As our flight from Houston started its descent towards the Liberia Airport, I was able to see the lush green landscape and the brilliant aquamarine water awaiting us.
Driving from the Liberia (LIR) airport to Four Seasons, Costa Rica, was a slide show of green landscape, sugar cane fields and the occasional wild pig looking for a meal. Taking our breath away was the entrance to the resort, quickly transformed into the breathtaking views of the Papagayo Peninsula coastlines.
